Mental Health and Wellbeing
At our school we recognise that positive mental health and wellbeing of our staff, children and families is key in ensuring that we can all lead lives that are as healthy and happy as possible.
We believe that we are well placed to try to support our families and staff to develop strategies to promote positive mental health. In order to carry out this role we:-
- Are here to listen if you need us and will direct you to further places of support
- Have a familiy support worker who can help with behaviour management, advice re finance and housing, local support groups etc
-Teach Mindfulness strategies and support them in using them on a regular basis
-Educate the children and staff to support them in developing a Top 2%er mindset for positive wellbeing- Challenge themselves to do new things
-Ensure that all of our community know the value of healthy diet and a good nights sleep,
-Ensure that all of our community know how important engaging with outdoors is; educate the children thorugh Forest Schools
-Ensure that our children develop a student voice through their student leadership team with worthwhile projects for them to be consulted upon
-Providing a rich curriculum where all children are encouraged to find their passion

Public Health England launches Every Mind Matters campaign
Most families have experienced upheaval in their daily lives during the pandemic. With children and young people now back at school or college, the new Public Health England (PHE) Better Health – Every Mind Matters campaign provides NHS-endorsed tips and advice to help children and young people’s mental wellbeing, and equip parents and carers with the knowledge to support them.
The new advice available on the Every Mind Matters website has been developed in partnership with leading children and young people’s mental health charities, including Young Minds, The Mix, Place2Be and The Anna Freud Centre.
It is designed to help parents and carers spot the signs that children may be struggling with their mental health and support them, and also provides advice that can help maintain good mental wellbeing. The site also provides tools to help young people build resilience and equips them to look after their mental wellbeing.
